Our COVID-19 Response

Sunrise2Sunrise has implemented a COVID- 19 Response Plan to ensure the health and safety of Participants and Staff. We are dedicated to safeguarding the health of anyone associated with our services, including Participants, Support Workers, Support Coordinators, Cleaners and Gardeners.

Sunrise2Sunrise COVID-19 Response Plan is informed by Victoria’s DHHS guidelines, Australian Government Department of Health guidelines, Worksafe Victoria’s policy and NDIS advice.

If a Support Worker believes/becomes aware they have come into contact with a positive COVID-19 case (or a close contact), they must immediately inform the Sunrise2Sunrise Covid Response Team.​ ​

The team can be contacted on (03) 9188 3499 during business hours or 0459 925 875 outside of business hours.
If a Participant or anyone else within the Participant’s household believes/becomes aware that they have come into contact with a positive COVID-19 case (or a close contact), we ask they inform the Sunrise2Sunrise Covid Response Team.

The Support Worker will be required to take a COVID-19 test and cannot attend shifts until a negative result is returned. If the result is positive, they will be required to self-isolate for 14 days, take another test, and get medical clearance before resuming shifts. Management will contact the Participant to discuss contactless support, including; information packs, providing essential groceries, use of Zoom, and connection to contactless support services.
Sunrise2Sunrise Covid Response Team will check in with the Support Worker regularly and offer additional contactless assistance (e.g. information packs, grocery runs, EAP assistance, connection to employee support services).Sunrise2Sunrise management will check in with Participants regularly to check on their well-being.

Sunrise2Sunrise COVID-19 Office Protocols

  1. We encourage you only visit the office if your query cannot be resolved via the telephone. While we value the time to sit down and discuss how we can assist, people coming into the office increases the risk of infection at the time.
  2. Visitors and Participants must check in when coming into the office. Checking in helps Sunrise2Sunrise track who is coming into the office and potential contacts. We will take temperatures and provide automatic hand sanitiser.
  3. Stocks of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are available for Support Workers and Participants to collect in the office including gloves, masks, and sanitiser. Information sheets are also available. All management will be wearing face masks at this time.
  4. All essential meetings are held over Zoom, limiting the number of people in the office.
  5. Staff members who are not essential to be in the office are asked to work from home. Staff working from home receive all equipment necessary to continue to provide the high quality expected of their work.
  6. Information has been made available for all Support Workers so they can best understand the new laws and their requirements.
  7. Management is continuing to monitor events and taking extra training to best respond to COVID-19.

Sunrise2 Sunrise has provided consistent high quality service. Support Co Ordinator, Melanie guided us in the care of our family member. Due to Melanie's help, and co ordinated approach to the well being, my family member has improved tremendously in the last two years. Ravi is an excellent person, very caring and always willing do the best and coming up with suggestions regarding the care of our family member. I have great faith in their services

Sunrise2sunrise have provided amazing support workers to both my children. They have been able to do things that we thought they would never do. Can’t thank them enough. Huge thanks to Jeavon, Bronte and Alanna for all your hard work with our cherubs. Never had a issue with the roster team at all and they are always happy to help when it is needed.

As a nurse I deal with many carers and co ordinators. Sunrise2Sunrise would have to be my absolute favourite to work/liase with in regards to clients. They are always empathetic and understanding especially a support co ordinator by the name of Linda (amazing) the way in which they all go about their work is fantastic. The clients are always their number 1 priority. Keep up the fantastic work you all do it is greatly appreciated.
